the question some of us are asking -
is Peter Goulding multi-tasking?"

A triumvirate of failures...

Dear Peter Goulding,
I'm afraid I won't be using your work in the upcoming food-themed issue of Snakeskin. But remember, I am only the guest editor. You may want to send these poems, or others, to the regular editor, George Simmers.

Okay, I can handle that. Fair enough.

Dear Peter Goulding,
Thank you for your submission to "Memoir (and)."
Memoirs are personal--writing and submitting a personal narrative often takes intrepid effort. We're grateful we had the opportunity to read yours.
Unfortunately, we receive many submissions and have limited space in which to publish them. We regret to say we must decline yours at this time.
We look forward to your next submission.
Sincerely,
http://www.memoirjournal.com/

This is an American one. I had a couple of pieces that I thought might suit. They didn't

The Margaret Reid Poetry contest is also American. Hosted by Winning Writers, it gets hundreds of entries every year. This year it was won by a New Zealander Philip Brown.
They have a shortlist of four, then they have the most highly commended poems, then the very very highly commended poems, then the very highly commended poems, then the highly commended poems and finally the commended poems. The complete list is so massive that I had to do Ctrl + F to find out if I was in there (I was, in the Commended section - probably reserved for those of us who spelt our names correctly)
Will probably give this one a miss next year, even though it is for traditional verse.

  1. Yay! I'm entering the Margaret Reed next year!

    Bums about the rest, obviously.

  2. That's great to get into the commended list!

Doesn't count as a failure at all in my book, not that I have a book, sigh.
