a brazen ecstasy which begs
the question some of us are asking -
is Peter Goulding multi-tasking?"

Anybody hear......

...who won / was shortlisted for the Patrick Kavanagh this year? Awards on Friday and as I haven't heard anything at this stage, I assume it ain't me
...when the Francis Ledwidge results will be out? I thought they were out before now last year.
...what has happened to Cathach 2? We were asked to submit in the Spring and no word as of yet and nothing about it on the website.

  1. The PK results won't be released before the presentation Friday night. I heard nothing this year. Heard nothing from the Cathach either.

  2. Yes. It's not me, you or Michael.

It was Connie Roberts from Hofstra University. http://www.hofstra.edu/home/News/PressReleases/112210_ConnieRoberts.html She's a creative writing academic and I'm sure she's perfectly lovely. She won for for her memoir in verse, Not the Delft School, inspired by her experiences growing up in an orphanage in Ireland.

  4. Kate and TFE, I've been asked not to mention the name of the winner till after the event on Friday, so I'll hold off publishing your comments.
But I'm truly delighted for the winner!

  7. Hi Titus, no its not me, nor Niamh or Kate, nor Peadar, nor none of the other bloggers. The only reason I know is that the winner and one of the joint seconds mailed me.

  9. Hi JoAnne, From Michael Farry's blog - http://michaelfarry.blogspot.com/2010/11/patrick-kavanagh-poetry-competition-2.html - "The winner as I already blogged was Connie Roberts who flew in from New York to be there. The joint second placed poets were Helena Nolan, originally from Kilkenny, who lives in Dublin, and Jim Maguire from Wexford. Jim had been awarded third prize in 2008. Both are well known and well published poets."
