Time running out for Dublin 15 writers

Tony Devlin

Any writers in Dublin 15, the closing date for submissions to Phoenix Ink 4, the anthology of the local writers' group, is May 31st. All forms of writing accepted but you must reside in Dublin 15.
Submission guidelines are pretty complicated, so best email me at gouldingpeter@gmail.com and I'll send them on by return.
Anthology this year edited by Tony Devlin, Sharon MacDonald, Brendan Shortall and Maureen Redmond.

  1. Dear Peter: A kindly thank-you!How long do you have to live there and how would they know? Do you need a post address? Are there many local contests for a certain geographic location? Is this to promote local talent? I am thinking about doing this here. I wonder how to get the ball in motion? Any suggestions? Are these govt contests or private enterprise? Maybe I could get a grant or venture capital loan! (yah, right!)...dreamin' (whistlin')ty Peter for inspiration! These folks (poets, writers, etc, are great!)Much to learn..

  2. Hi Chic, this anthology is published by the local writers group. They collect a small amount for subs at every meeting and then look to the local Council for help with the funding. Normally, they more than break even on the sales, so that helps the funding also. Some years they do members only but this year they're trying to up the ante a bit and raise the quality and at the same time trying to encourage new blood, hence throwing it open to all Dublin 15 residents.
