The highly prestigious Wigtown Poetry Competition is open for business with a closing date, like Strokestown of February 5th. I've always liked the idea of this competition but will not be entering this year because
1) the entry fee of £6.50 (Sterling) per poem is a little high, and
2) the payment method for those of us in Euroland is just too much hassle. Either you find time to go and queue in a bank and pay well over the odds for a sterling draft, or you send them your credit card number on a sheet of paper, which I consider to be well dodgy.
