I decided to treat myself to a Christmas present this year - JoAnne McKay's Grave with Lights - and it arrived safely yesterday (many thanks JoAnne)
Actually it was a no-brainer - I'd bought Venti and had been blown away by the combination of beautiful poetry and beautiful artwork, so I was sure this would be in the same vein.
I haven't had time to more than flick through it yet but that is a delight I shall savour slowly when I have more time, once all the seasonal hullabaloo is over. Handmade by the poet, featuring her cutting and incisive verse, augmented by Victor Henderson's artwork, it's rather like eating 200g of chocolate in bed - sheer overindulgence.
My one gripe is that the book has been criminally underhyped. Go and get a copy now and enjoy
Eating 200g of chocolate in bed? Oh dear - the things some bloggers get up to.
ReplyDeletePeter, you are a gentleman. And quite obviously a scholar. Cheers!
