"Seven bums and fourteen legs,
a brazen ecstasy which begs
the question some of us are asking -
is Peter Goulding multi-tasking?"

Airfield House Open Mic

Siobhan Flynn, shortlisted for Goldsmith, has good cause to hate me, as I, possibly unjustly, beat her into second place at the Percy French in Strokestown. Her poem was not only funny, it was also very clever and as such, was much more a work of art than my bit of doggerel.
However, she has forgiven me and sends me a lovely email, inviting me, and indeed everybody, to the Airfield Writers Group's Open Mic in Dundrum on June 22nd.

To celebrate the launch of our broadsheet The Mews
Airfield Writers
are hosting an open-mic evening
on Wednesday June 22nd at 7.30 pm
in The Library of Airfield House
Bring your poem/ flash fiction – no longer than two minutes, please. Or just lend an appreciative ear and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine.
For directions to Airfield, see http://www.airfield.ie/about.html

Of course, this would mean going over on the south side...

  2. To be fair, as sides go, it doesn't have much competition
