"Seven bums and fourteen legs,
a brazen ecstasy which begs
the question some of us are asking -
is Peter Goulding multi-tasking?"

Rita Doyle of Blainroe Crossroads, co Wicklow RIP

We know that there’ll be angels

for Rita

We hope that there’ll be angels there to mind you
and bear you up upon your final flight,
for now it’s time to leave us all behind you.

Shake off those leaden shackles that confined you
and rest now from the long, unending fight.
We trust that there’ll be angels there to mind you.

Our love will fly beside you to remind you
of all of us for whom you made things right
but now it’s time to leave us all behind you.

There is no light that’s strong enough to blind you,
no other star could ever shine so bright –
we pray that there’ll be angels there to mind you.

The simplicity and kindness that defined you
will comfort us deep in the blackest night
but now it’s time to leave us all behind you.

So go back to the Father who designed you.
He’ll bathe your tired body in his light.
We know that there’ll be angels there to mind you
as now it’s time to leave us all behind you.

  1. Beautiful, Peter. I particularly liked,
'The simplicity and kindness that defined you', the spirit of which was carried so expertly in the words of the poem.
