Off to Strokestown

Off to Strokestown early afternoon for the poetry festival, so I won't be around until Monday and won't be boarding the Poetry Bus, if indeed there is one.
Looking forward to meeting old friends again, Martin Parker and Dee Gaynor in particular are travelling from England to take part in the Humorous Verse competition which as usual is on tonight. My wife has just informed me that she 'hates' my poem, which is great for the confidence. Mind you, she says that most years.
There are other non-poet people who we meet there every year too, Melissa, Kay, Pat and Shane in particular, local residents too and others who simply come from the craic.
And it looks as though that goddam sun gonna shine too.
