Rambling thoughts of one who aspires to be a poet but has thus far failed miserably
"Seven bums and fourteen legs,
a brazen ecstasy which begs
the question some of us are asking -
is Peter Goulding multi-tasking?"

The Locke Bar this Thursday
Visiting Limerick this Thursday. Then get thee down to the Locke Bar to see two of Ireland's brightest young writers perform their pieces at the On the Nail readings. Both Susan Millar DuMars and Michael Farry are names that will be very familiar to the Irish literati, their names cropping up regularly in journals and anthologies both here and abroad. Michael's work I am more familiar with and I love the way he melds the descriptive with the historical in his poetry. Maybe this is the schoolteacher in him coming through but you always feel you've learnt something new after reading one of his poems! Allied to a wonderful turn of phrase and a probably painstaking determination to seek out the right word, he has in the past few years produced a body of work that should soon grace his first collection.

Oh Peter! Thanks very much for that. You do need to watch your adjectives though. Young is not an adjective which has been used about me since 1979.
