"Seven bums and fourteen legs,
a brazen ecstasy which begs
the question some of us are asking -
is Peter Goulding multi-tasking?"

Anyone know anything about...?

I haven't been entering many competitions or submitting much recently. Have a few other things on my plate and a lot of the competitions seem a bit expensive.
I keep track of what I've entered and where, so that I don't submit twice to the same place. There's a few things that are in a bit of a black hole at the moment, in that I don't know where I stand. If these places are no-gos I'd quite like to free up the poems if I could. So if anyone has any info...
1) Cathach 2 - looked for submissions in Spring last year. Since then, nothing on the website. Is this still going ahead?
2) Default Magazine down in Cork - Closing date December 2010. "Please allow eight weeks for a response"
3) The Moth magazine - submitted in December. Do you hear if you are unsuccessful or do they only notify successful candidates?
4) WOW awards - Closing date 31st December. Since then, no word on the website. Does it normally take this long?
5) Ellipsis magazine - say they publish twice a year. The same issue has been up for around nine months now and no updates. Submitted last November.

  4. I know the moth magazine is inundated and only replies if your poem is selected. But do try again, it's a great mag.
Did you email any of the others?
    Hadn't heard of raft before...

  5. Hi Peter, I've been waiting for The Moth too and no word as yet so maybe the answer is to submit again. As for The Cathach - I see a poem I sent is there - that's lovely to see but that's the first I've heard of it! I have a list too and I had crossed that one off.

  6. Hi Michael - without mine either, I see, though there's some serious heavyweights in there, so I don't feel too bad.
Laura - checked out Raft, looks like they want audio files so that's me scuppered!
Hi Kate - yes, I like the look of Moth.
David - in your case, you really should assume its been accepted unless you get a rejection. Sorry, you doubtless wouldn't recognise a rejection!!!
