The Stinging Fly is one of the (many) magazines I have so far failed to get published in. Many much more experienced and practised writers than me have also been turned away from its hallowed pages and one comment is that, especially for poetry, it seems to go for a particular style, whatever that means.
I have to say, I read the magazine and feel it encompasses quite a broad spectrum. I am also sure that my poetry is just the sort of thing they should be looking for. However, I say that every year.
Maybe this year is the year to break the fly. They only take submissions in the first quarter of the year, so tinme to start thinking...
Ditto. Maybe we could get in as a pigeon pair? They love flies, stinging or otherwise
ReplyDeleteHi Kate, a collaborative approach, eh? They won't be expecting that. Its so crazy it just might work...
