the question some of us are asking -
is Peter Goulding multi-tasking?"

I can think of worse ways of starting the year

The Poetry Library an English site, is a good resource for discovering what poetry competitions are ongoing across the water. A lot of them have no online facilities but I was idly browsing it yesterday morning when I came across a 'What Christmas means to you' competition hosted by Chris Meredith. It had a closing date of December 31st but fortunately I had one I'd prepared earlier - actually the one I'd read at Knightsbrifge in Trim - so I sent it in.
Now normally you have to wait a long time after the closing date for the results to be announced, so I was therefore gobsmacked to receive an email from Chris at 00.33 this morning -
Hello Peter,
A happy New Year to you.
I am also pleased to tell you that your poem, Christmas week at the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, has won the December poetry competition.
I will send your £50 WH Smith voucher to you within the next 14 days.
Kind regards
Chris
PS> I really enjoyed your poem and liked the construction of it. I know Blanchardstown quite well as I used to visit there regularly on business ten years ago.
You can view your poem on the website by following the link below.

What a lovely way to start the year!
Anyway, I see Chris has a New Year's competition up and running - closing date end of January, with the top three winning prizes. And believe me, if I can win, anybody can!!
