the question some of us are asking -
is Peter Goulding multi-tasking?"

The Lion King

Back from England on Monday, then into work for two nights. We're away again on Friday morning so things is hectic here and if I haven't got around to you on the Poetry Bus I'm sorry, I will try and do so before I go.
Well, I disgraced myself at the Lion King, managing to fall asleep during the second half of the show, which induced incredulity from other members of the 13 strong contingent. Actually, having forked out a Kings ransom for the tickets, I was a little disappointed with myself.
Basically though, its the film on stage. The opening sequence is quite impressive, though it really should have been the finale, which was a bit weak. But - and, like myself, this is a big BUT - I don't believe those animals were real at all. I firmly believe that it was a bunch of actors dressed up as animals. What a rip-off! At least the film used real animals.
But a good weekend overall. My 50th birthday poem for my sister-in-law went down so well she's not speaking to me.

  1. I need to remember to scroll down!!!

I wrote a bunch of "occasion poems". The one for my parents-in-law's 50th went over well.

Would love to read your poem for your sis. (Or do I need to scroll further?)

  3. Yeah, if Disney could find singing lions and warthogs, why couldn't Cameron Mackintosh?

Aren't London theatre ticket prices bonkers these days?
