a brazen ecstasy which begs
the question some of us are asking -
is Peter Goulding multi-tasking?"

The Golden Pen award

Got a phone call from a very nice man called John Corbett, who is the coordinator of the Golden Pen Poetry and Prose competitions. He was delighted to tell me, he said, that my poem had won the poetry competition for this year. I'm unsure which one it was, as I sent in two - one was a terzanelle and the other was free verse.
I presume that I was the only entrant. That's the only explanation. Either that, or he's going to ring me back shortly and tell me there's been a terrible mistake.

  6. Congratulations Peter, maybe you have two for two first - maybe they liked both so well it was a hard choice which one to go with for first place.

  9. Ah, thanks everyone. I'm pretty chuffed about it really and occasionally find myself grinning for no reason. The wife thinks I have piles.
Michael, that Boyle competition is intriguing, isn't it? 15 minutes only. And I doubt the entrance would be particularly high!

  10. Stay away from that Boyle competition, Goulding. That's mine. In any case, award-winning poets are barred from entry this year, the UN Year to be Nice to the Playwright. Well done on the Golden Pen. Delighted for you. But don't get too greedy now!
