"Seven bums and fourteen legs,
a brazen ecstasy which begs
the question some of us are asking -
is Peter Goulding multi-tasking?"

Ticket for the poetry bus

Another tale of unrequited love for TFE's poetry bus...
A stella performance

She was wearing a Stella McCartney,
I was drinking a Stella Artois.
It started out well,
Our minds seemed to gel,
She said she liked reggae,
I said I liked ska.
She was wearing a Stella McCartney,
I was drinking a Stella Artois.

I put on a stellar performance,
The Stella Artois flowed like wine.
We laughed and we joked,
Went outside and smoked,
She ran a long fingernail
Right down my spine.
It seemed that for once I’d get lucky,
As the Stella Artois flowed like wine.

But, alas, she did not find it humorous
When I vomited right down her bra.
To help make amends,
I ogled her friends,
And told her I thought that
She looked like me ma.
And I was drinking to Stella McCartney
But I was wearing a Stella Artois.

  6. This is hilarious! Do you know, I couldn't find a rhyme for Artois, so I had to change it a bit.

    This one is great fun.

  8. Stunning, and yet so familiar.
No one else has managed to get "ska" into the rhyming yet!
Loved it, laughed, and the last six lines are brilliant.

  13. Vomited right in her bra? Gah!

I had a friend who started a ska band in the 80s. They're still going I believe. Skaface is their name. She was a mouse of a girl in person, but put her on stage with a white face and some eyeliner and she could belt them out with the best of them!

I just knew you'd be wearing that drink by the end.

I am doing catch up -- behind on my work ---- never-the-less- while I am here decided to look at several of your poems/prose besides the magpie...The whole prose was just delightful -- loved the way it flowed from beginning to end-- the "Vomited right in her bra" very descriptive for sure, a very good contemporary cultural piece of writing--
