the question some of us are asking -
is Peter Goulding multi-tasking?"

Roger McGough

I see Roger McGough is reading in Trinity next month. He's on at the Emmet Theatre,
Arts Building,Trinity College Dublin on Tuesday,16 February. Admission free.
Once upon a time I had great regard for him. Then a couple of years ago, he wrote a football poem and told everybody how nobody was writing football poems, as though he had invented the genre.
Needless to say, with over 12,000 football poems and ten years in existence the good poets at Football Poets - www.footballpoets.org - were somewhat puzzled at his remarks. Granted, there are a lot of poems on the site that aren't brilliant - the ethos is on encouraging people to write about their love of football - but there are many fine and thought-provoking poems on there too. Equal to any effort of Roger's.

  1. Thanks for the plug.
You've got the ethos spot on. It's why so many do come visiting to have a go.
I do still like Rog though ;-)
