"Seven bums and fourteen legs,
a brazen ecstasy which begs
the question some of us are asking -
is Peter Goulding multi-tasking?"

Aquillrelle - oh dear...

Dear Peter,
Congratulations! Your poetry was among the best sent to our competition.
Attached please find your certificate. Please let us know if you would wish your full name to be included on the certificate and in this case please tell us your correct name (to prevent spelling mistakes).
As a shortlisted poet we offer you the possibility of publishing a collection of your poems, at the reduced price of 125$. If you wish to do it, please collect and send us a number of poems which would fill about 200 pages of an A5 size book and let us know if you have a cover preference (front and back) - we will do our best to follow your preferences. You can leave it all to us as well, we do not mind. This offer is valid until 31.March.2012.
Could you please also send us a short bio and a picture of yourself, for our online publishing of the finalists, and maybe also for the book.
Thank you for bringing such beauty to our contest and to our lives,
Kindest regards,
the Aquillrelle team

As a very wise woman - Kate Dempsey - once told me, if you're being asked to pay for your work, its probably a scam. Certainly, they don't say how many copies of your book you get for your $125. They seem to use Lulu too - I've done a 200 page book on Lulu for €10.

It appears that there are about 100 'winners' - 5 get published for free, the rest get a discount. To be fair to them, the competition was free to enter.

  4. Ah that sucks! Shame, certificate was nice. Probably worth 125$ by the designer who made it. ;-) It does make you wonder the number of entries there were? 100? And is this email was even geniune or generated. Once you start questioning something, the process grows like a prolific fungus in your mind. Anyway, I hope you're well.
