"Seven bums and fourteen legs,
a brazen ecstasy which begs
the question some of us are asking -
is Peter Goulding multi-tasking?"

Oh dear - more success...

Dear Peter,
Thank you for your submissions to Shot Glass Journal. I enjoyed reading your poems and would like to publish "Vandalism" and "The Howling" in the upcoming Issue #3. Could you please forward a short bio that you would like to accompany your poems?
I did notice a typo in the last stanza of "Vandalism" - should the first line read "They may remove the paint" instead of "The may..."
I should be sending out proofs in the next couple of days for your review. The publication should post shortly thereafter. Thank you again for your interest in our journal.

Shot Glass Journal is an on-line poetry journal devoted to short poetry. Where other poetry journals publish poems of various lengths and forms, Shot Glass focuses on both free verse and form poetry of 16 lines or less. The Inaugural issue met with great enthusiasm in the poetry world, which is reflected in the number of submissions received for Issue #2. So they are pleased to announce that we will be publishing Shot Glass Journal three times a year instead of twice.

Can't believe I had a typo, though. Poor word choice, inelegant phraseology, confused metaphors etc, I can hold up my hand to, but a typo??? Actually, it's not the first time I've put 'the' instead of 'they.' Must watch out for that. I'm actually surprised they still wanted my stuff after such an elementary error.

  1. Peter, thi is becoming ridiculous!

  2. insist that it's not a typo, and that you hadn't considered their alternative suggestion, and in fact you prefer to stick with the original version.

  3. Whay-he
    You're on a roll! Congratulations.

  4. Kat - not surprised I sent in a typo?
Michael - completely ridiculous. A long period of rejections is called for to maintain the status quo
Niamh - as yes, the prerogative of the poet to assume he / she is merely being obscure!
    Titus - a cheese roll, I expect
TFE - yup, me and the Power Rangers.
