is Peter Goulding multi-tasking?"

Aha! Back to life, back to reality

Dear Peter,
Thanks so much for entering the Geist Jackpine Sonnet Contest. We received more than 200 submissions this year, and although we were impressed by all of them, your work was not among the finalists. The Editorial Board spent many weeks reading and deliberating, then chose a longlist of 10 poems.
We will be working on another poetry contest in the future, so please check the Geist newsletter and geist.com for all contest announcements.
Thanks again for entering the Jackpine contest. The Jackpine Sonnet is a fickle little poem, and we enjoyed reading all of the entries.
Warm wishes,
Geist Jackpine Sonnet Contest Coordinator

Ah, you don't really mind not getting anywhere when the bad news is relayed so nicely. I actually love the notion of a jackpine sonnet - basically, if you're writing a sonnet and have got to 14 lines and it is not yet finished, just keep going until you do! Oh, those crazy Canadians....
