"Seven bums and fourteen legs,

the question some of us are asking -
is Peter Goulding multi-tasking?"

Really on a roll now...

Dear Peter Goulding,
Sorry it's taken us so long to get back to you about your submission. We've been having all kinds of annoying email problems - hence the new Gmail account, which we hope will prevent that in future.
I regret to say we won't be taking any of the poems you submitted for Issue 12. We've received hundreds of submissions and turned down many good poems that just weren't a good fit for this particular issue. Thank you for submitting.
Best regards,
Co-editor, The Shit Creek Review

Well, looking on the bright side, this string of PFOs is freeing up some of my poems to submit again elsewhere...

  2. Dear Peter: Sounds like you need a biz upstart for your own unique genre poetry magazine. If you can't beat 'em; join 'em in the game of publishing. The next William Randolph Hearst. When (not if) you get really rich and famous as a poet cum publisher then you will see how many of the mags out there are simply lacking competitive skill. You will note how these autocratic magazines promote from within only. Rarely does the outsider get a bit on their line. Don't give up - Get even!Get on that roll! Your own Roll Call! Who needs "them?"? Set up your own poetry mag! Sounds sort of like a fishing game to me anyway. You know they are making money on all those submissions; it's not just for "entry fee". How rich are they; these contest sites? One has to wonder...

  4. I was Googling to see if anyone mentioned SCR 12 and happened to run across this. Heh.

I'm sorry your were upset by my rejection note. I actually thought it was a rather nice one, as those things go. I've gotten worse.

All poets get rejections. You can't take it too much to heart. Just keep doing your thing.

    Best,
    Rose
