is Peter Goulding multi-tasking?"

Stony Thursday Book

Got a handwritten envelope in the post yesterday - always the best sort - inviting me to submit to this year's Stony Thursday book published annually by Limerick City Council. Presumably, as a failed entrant last year, I'm on the mailing list.
I like the look of Stony Thursday and am dead jealous of anyone who gets in there. Anyway, they accept email submissions - artsoffice@limerickcity.ie - or by post - The Arts Service, Limerick City Council, City Hall, Merchant's Quay, Limerick. Please mark your envelope: The Stony Thursday Book.
Closing date for submissions is 13th August 2010, book to be published in October. Send no more than 6 poems. No mention of length. When submitting poems, write your name and address on each page
(applies to email also?)
One thing puzzles me (maybe its a typo) - "The Stony Thursday Book was founded by Limerick poets John Liddy and Jim Burke in 1975, ...celebrated its 30th Anniversary Edition in 2005. Poetry submissions are now being accepted for issue No. 9 "

  1. I'm also a failed entrant from last year, but didn't get an invitation to submitt, maybe there are levels of failure and I'm with the ones who aren't welcome back?!! Maybe I should be proud of that?

  2. Or maybe you forgot to iclude your address?
Or maybe they're being very sarcastic and having a good laugh at my expense?

  3. Niamh, maybe you have an evil postman. I have one, he never delivers notifications of success, only failure. You may even have been offered a win last year and he just kept it under his hat.
Anyway - thanks for that Peter. Might just dig out a few bits and pieces for them.
