Cheating this week in the Magpie prompt because I'm really short of time. This was written about 14 years ago!
Round and round and round and round,
Purposeless, without a sound,
Eyes that never seem to blink,
Heads that never stop to think,
Free from any special features,
God! Aren’t goldfish boring creatures?
Round and round and round and round,
Purposeless, without a sound,
Eyes that never seem to blink,
Heads that never stop to think,
Free from any special features,
God! Aren’t goldfish boring creatures?

ReplyDeleteWell you saved this poem for the right moment in time and for the right crowd--us little ol' Magpiers's.
So a big ' round' of applause for you dear sir, that was a very fishy tale you told and quite funny too.

Dear Peter: Haha! Perfect! Congratulations again on your prestigious award. You are one talented person! Can you Youtube one of your readings to the crowds here? I'd LOVE to hear your poems read by the artist as a young poet. You Irish!
ReplyDeleteOh I thought you were writing about commuters!
