is Peter Goulding multi-tasking?"

Finally made it up Shit Creek

Dear Peter,
We would like to include "An unfortunate sequence of events" in the upcoming issue of SCR, due out in February. Thanks for submitting it.
If you'd like to provide a recorded reading, please email the MP3 file to this address, preferably before Dec. 31. The readings are optional, but we'd love to have one.
Thanks again for contributing!
Best regards,

Co-editor, The Shit Creek Review

Okay, I'm going to need some technical help here. How do you do an MP3 file??

  1. download audacity off the web - http://audacity.sourceforge.net. It's an easy way to record. And when you're done recording hit - export as MP3, and save it with whatever title you want to go with

  2. hhhmmm.. depends on what music programs you're running/how you record etc.. the way we make one (fairly bad quality though)is thus.

download free video to mp3 converter.. here's a linky thing, not sure how if it's good one or not, but just an example. some give you a free trial for so many days and work fine.

then we set the digital camera to video record (or if you have a sound setting you can try this one). read yer poem.

import the video file onto your computer the usual way. (the same as with photos).

open the video to mp3 converter. most of them have a browse area where you import whichever files to convert. some will have a drop down menu where you choose which format you want to convert to, in this case choose convert to mp3.

import the video file, choose the mp3 format, click convert.. job done.

of course, it's never that easy really and takes a few precious moments of swearing, kicking pets and such, but it's easy when you get yer head round it...

hope this sort of helps.. *don't hit me!

  3. Dear Peter: What's really amazing is that you didnt have a paddle! MP3? Going high tech now are we? Congrats all around! You made my river brighter today! Just phosphorous bubbles on top, but brighter non-the-less!

  4. I use podomatic.com - it's pretty easy.

That's really cool! Is it an online magazine?

Of course, in your case, the medium is not a reflection on the quality of the work.
